Hi everyone, I'm looking to pick up a radar detector soon but want to get the right one so I figured I would ask since I have no idea where to start.
I live in Atlanta and do a decent bit of driving down to Columbus, GA (~100 miles) and up to Clarksville, TN (~300 miles) with a few other areas on top of that so whatever has decent variety for differing state preferences would be best. I have an iPhone currently so I know that may have issues with a Uniden R4 from what I've seen with bluetooth connectivity. I usually throw my phone in the charging compartment and forget about it so Idk if a connective app is really going to do me any good anyways.
I was mostly looking at the R4 and the R7 and if I don't plan on using my phone while driving is it safe to assume that the R7 is the better bet? I see the R4 for $328 on Amazon right now and the R7 for $460. I don't know if I care too much about arrows - they seem nice but not worth the difference in price. I'm just looking for the best "set it and forget it" detector that doesn't need a whole lot of active input once it's there.
I was also reading about Georgia having a lot of laser detectors now, what's a decent product to work around that to pair with a radar detector if any?
Thanks in advance!
