My idea is the following:
We both work at the same company, but on different floors. It's a dull office job and we're both frustrated with our daily lives. We've both begun posting on reddit and other forums, sexting with strangers.
One day we strike up a conversation on reddit and engage in a long-term sexual relationship. At first, we don't know who the other really is.
We can take this in multiple directions. We can find out the truth, never find out, begin dating in real life in a very vanilla relationship while cheating online with each other, etc.
