Back in 2006 when I was fresh out of college, I was already making a name for myself in the Milwaukee area as an ambitious video producer for hire. I made my services available to anyone who needed me. A good majority of the work I did was weddings and TV commercials, but I was available to anyone who could afford my services.

This one month I was approached by a man who managed several girls in the Milwaukee area. After a little negotiating, he hired me to produce a series of adult content videos for him.

You may be seeing this story through the lens of today's world where anyone with a camera phone could post something, but this was at the tail end of the era in which porn was less something you'd look at online, and it was more about DVDs you would find at your local porn shop. So this project was a huge undertaking for the time including production of the media and distribution to places where it would be sold.

For two months I was the observer in the room for some kinky stuff. Operating the camera and trying to get the shots without getting in the way of the action. It was probably one of the weirdest experiences of my life.

While working with them, I practically lived among them. Shooting and editing everything under their supervision. Trying to keep things professional as so many...benefits may have been available as perks to the job. It was an interesting family.

And by that, I mean it was a family business. One of the girls this guy managed was his wife, and another was his 20-something daughter who had kids of her own at the time. So it was an interesting family dynamic that would make an interesting case study.

I still remember a couple of the girl's stage names, but not their real names. Bridget Conway and German Vamp to name a few. I haven't heard from them since the project ended so I doubt they're still in the business, but it would be interesting to know what happened after that point.

I tell this story because it makes me curious to know if there would be anyone out there who would be interested in a similar project. A point of nostalgia as I pick up my cameras once more and produce a series of videos staring several consenting adults. Is this something that would interest you?
