I'm absolutely frustrated right now and feel so disrespected as a human being. Currently at a subway station an hour away from my home contemplating what I just put myself through for a "good time".
Instead of going into detail, I'd like to hear honest opinions on the logic of standing someone up? Especially if they travelled over an hour to see you. Does that not make you feel evil? If you're not feeling it or lost interest, why not tell the person BEFORE they leave or much before they arrive? These are genuine concerns I have. I find it to be incredibly distasteful to do this to someone, and this person did it to me not once, but twice.
Not at all claiming only women do this btw, I'm sure men have as well, but you honestly should take a good look in the mirror and reflect on life if you treat others like this. I could've been doing so many other things: Cycling, running, visiting parents, cooking, cleaning, etc. But instead, I travel over an hour, sit in the sun like a fool, for someone who probably didn't even intend on meeting or doesn't value my time or feelings. Another thing I don't understand is dropping communication entirely after you've stood someone up. I'd feel absolutely riddled with guilt if I did this to someone.
TL;DR, standing someone up is wrong. Please be better. World is messed up enough as it is. Treat others how you would want to be treated. I'm currently extremely upset, but I'll try my hardest to get through it.
Take care, be respectful in the comments. 🙏🏽💜
