This might get taken down but I'm curious what this group of horny redditors think.
Firstly, how do you define racism? Secondly, is a racial preference racist?
Racism: "the belief that different races possess distinct characteristics, abilities, or qualities, especially so as to distinguish them as inferior or superior to one another." and or "prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism by an individual, community, or institution against a person or people on the basis of their membership in a particular racial or ethnic group, typically one that is a minority or marginalized"
To have a sexual preference simply put, is not racist. A person who prefers not to date an overweight person, disabled persons etc is also valid. A person has the right to choose whom they sleep with. It's not effecting you, it's not segregating, discriminatory or malicious. It's a preference. It would be considered racist if they are acting on their "preferences" by inferring that one race is superior to another. Or like a previous poster said "I don't date this particular race because they are smelly"
Besides that, preference is a preference.
I'm giving you examples that come with certain cultures and races. I don't really care about YOU personally. You seem really argumentative throughout this entire post so on that alone I wouldn't be interested.
Yes, I wouldnt date you if you are vegetarian or alcohol free which are practices that a lot of cultures have. Is that racist? I also wouldn't date a person who has some conservative values which don't align with mine. Those conservative values also come with a lot of cultures. I'm very doubtful that you have the SAME life approach as me or as every prospective partner you seek to pursue.
No, I am not confusing the two. I don't really casually hookup without the intention of spending time with/or dating them. So a cultural similarity is pretty important to me.
If someone is disabled and requires care, it's not on their partners to take on that responsibility (partners often take on the role of caregiver) and a person has the right to choose not to date those people if they are unable to mentally, physically or emotionally take that on. What are you, 12?
What is racist about what that person said though? If they prefer people who do certain things based on their cultural upbringing or background, how is that not a legitimate desire when it comes to a sexual relationship? I feel like a person has the right to prefer a certain approach to life especially when it comes to religious or cultural practices.
How is a personal experience observed in previous partners (and looking for that again);racist?
I don't think this is racist. But I guess it depends on what you're into.
