I understand Doublelist is suppose to be filling in the gap left by Craigslist shutting down its personals but has ANYONE locally (in Toronto here too) had any success from it?

I haven't and I'm a bit dumbfounded by the site.

After wading through the tons of spam (ai fakes? like how Ashley Madison faked posts), it seems like there's always the same 7 guys on there messaging (hey guys), my initial messages don't seem to be getting through (shadowbanning?), and there's one guy that keeps messaging offensive things using other people's email addresses (which I've flagged to Doublelist but nothing seems to have been done) (hey asshole).

So I'm now done with it but I'm still wondering: is Doublelist just a clever mechanism to collect email addresses? It's not real, right?

I'm not looking to hook up with this post and just curious if anyone has any good experiences to share because I don't get it.
