Sorry to be this person but I saw a post on here from an 18F seeking an older male companion. Of course, the 18 yo is young and innocent in this situation. But going through the comments sections, the amount of men in their 30s, 40s and 50s who were interested were concerning.

When an 18yo seeks an older companion, I imagine someone in their 20s. Not 20/30 year age gaps. What would a 50 something year old even discuss with an 18 year old? The stages of life and power dynamics in that relationship are just so imbalanced.

Anyway, I just hope young people are safe and not being preyed upon. This isn’t to rain on anyone’s parade. I might delete this because I had to work up the courage to post it but I really wanted us to be mindful. It feels predatory for men so much older to pursue a teenager.
