The Sell
Hey there soon-to-not-be-stranger! Let's start at a coffee or a boba. We could talk about the shitty dates and the crap men and women we've met here and there and all the non-starters to vet one another. Or the ones that changed our lives. Or the ones who just brought up our day by paying for your drink.
Do you need someone to share some stories with? A fresh friend? With someone who is probably going to do a great job being engaged in your every word, you can probably lie a bit to, or be completely honest to, and is actually sane and stable in their life? We've been around the proverbial block enough to know that, yeah, we could use a breather (hah, like the title).
I'm sitting at an airport in wait for my flight to Vegas, running through the mental checklist of what I probably forgot. I booked my flight, car, and hotel a bit over 24 hours ago because I live life by calculated whims. If click, you'll have a new friend whose guest room you can crash if in you're ever in the Bay Area! Say more (not less). Maybe over a place with drinks, or yakitori, or really good fries. Let's make a plan!

- Works in: Law, tech, and insurance. Working in SF or at home in San Leandro. Occasionally, DTLA. And anywhere else I can fly or drive to.
- Food takes: Mint ice cream? Cold toothpaste. Pearls in milk tea? I ordered a drink, not a meal! Wings? Bone-in, please.
Why I'm Here / Who I'm Looking For
I've met fantastic friends here and other places, but I like Reddit because it's a writing exercise. I look forward to meeting more amazing people to call a friend, even if it's for a brief amount of time! Maybe you're the next great person to chat with about the mundane things in the day and listen to because it's all part of a larger, interesting story. Someone to try new things with and literally plan every other month to travel somewhere new because there's just so much to do! We could try that dinner spot that just opened up then, we add dessert to the mix or snacks and watch a movie before parting for the late-late evening.
I'm looking for someone to be a really good friend in the mid/late 20s scene to have small adventures consisting of finding good yakitori or great boba where ever the moment takes us. We could talk about plants and cats and binge GBBO or Survivor or the new drop every week while snacking on something from the import shop. I'm looking for a friend to talk about the journey with and lament getting old and the "figuring it out" that comes with being somewhere in a career and trying to reclaim lost time. We could laugh at James Acaster or Russell Howard or at Taskmaster and how English humor and depression go hand in hand. Or, fuck all that sad noise, let's check out a craft fair or random show and talk to artists about their life experiences and lament that between our collective two total brain cells, we could potentially draw a straight line. Maybe you'd be my best friend, or we could be people who really respect each other and see one another once a month. Who knows? But let's give it a shot.
