Forget “Why?” Embrace “Why not?”
I may almost be 40, but not dead yet. I’m looking for someone a little adventurous. I don’t mean extreme sports or risky behaviour, rather I’m talking about the attitude they live their life by. Someone who: is not a total goodie-two-shoes, doesn’t go through life doing exactly what they are told, asks “Why not?” instead of “Why?”, and is willing to try new things.
I'm also looking for someone who can let a little bit of that Freudian id out in the right situations. So bonus points if you can occasionally make suggestions that raise an eyebrow.
What I'm Looking For
- Good communication skills.
- Kindness.
- Intelligence.
- An open mind.
- Similar set of moral values.
- Compatible sense of humour.
About Me
- I'm 5'10, 170 lbs, and white if that matters.
- I’m 39 years old, but people tell me I look closer to 30 than 40. Maybe it is the SPF and retinoids or maybe they are just being nice 😅
- I'm at the gym for 2 hours 3 times a week with my trainer. My build is starting to go back to athletic. I do mobility, weights, core, and cardio. I track my energy and macros. I plan to get back into mountain biking and Krav Maga this year.
- My favourite book is For Whom the Bell Tolls, my favourite movie is Sicario, and my favourite band is The Strokes.
- I am open to starting a family.
- I am sarcastic as f***. It means I like you.
- I volunteer 2-3 times per week doing at a soup kitchen and mentoring at-risk a youth. I’ve been volunteering at the soup kitchen now for 15 years.
- My last job was as a Senior Director in a tech company.
- I own my condo outright and have no debt.
- I like video games, audiobooks, and podcasts.
- I am always trying to improve myself: knowledge, skills, emotional growth, fitness.
- I drink and use cannabis from time to time and typically do so socially.
- I'm handy around the house and great with technology. The last thing I fixed was a microwave and before that a clothes washing machine.
My Red Flags
- I have anxiety and depression. I am high-functioning, so it rarely holds me back e.g. it didn't stop me from getting my law degree and MBA simultaneously or achieving success in my professional life. Worth disclosing either way.
- I quit my last job due to burn out. Money is not a problem, but it weirds some people out.
DM me if any of this resonates with you, even if we don’t line up perfectly. The worst-case scenario is we chat and it goes nowhere. Tell me a little bit about yourself and use the word “grapefruit” in your chat message please. I'm comfortable talking about anything so ask away. I’m also happy to swap a SFW selfie or two.
Hope to hear from you soon.
