As we all know, the dating world is constantly evolving. Between technology, age bracket, and your social life - you're bound to be part of some subculture of dating. Well the ones for me just have not turned out anyone that is looking for a connection first, so here I am typing out a blunt r4r.

A bit about me. I'm a single 34 year old SE Asian (mixed) guy, working in a professional STEM career path, a home owner, kid free, can make the best of all situations be it unwinding at home working on something or going out with people who share the same vibe, down to travel and have new experiences, and an avid home 'chef'. In my free time I'm always trying to learn something new and enjoy hands on activities as completing something with your hands is just satisfying. Culturally, I come from a melting pot of a background, so traditional culture isn't something I was raised on. Physically, I'm 5'11, rocking the childless Dad bod, have dark hair and eyes, and during the summer get my fair share of the Asian tan. I promise that I'm not as dull and blunt as this post is having me come off!

What am I after? Well intially looking for someone else who is like minded that is looking for a partner in the longrun. Partner being the key word. Relationships are about communication, compromise and at the source some shared ideals and realtionship goals. Today's dating pool seems to be full of people who are either in the rush for something regardless of what it is and those who are aimlessly just looking to date. I'm at the point that I'm over the dating games, not looking to have my time or energy wasted and respectfully don't want to waste anyone elses. I'd like to find someone that knows culture from living it and not just based on what they read/assume from the media or that one summer they spent traveling. What do I mean by that? Well I'm looking for someone who is Asian as we can relate more than those who had a different cultural upbringing. Someone who is open to the idea of kids in the longrun, but isn't driven as that being all they are after in a longterm relationship. Even though it's not an official personality type, someone else in the STEM field would be ideal. There are just traits of those in STEM who communicate differently. Location wise, someone else local in the DMV area would be ideal as something long distance isn't what I'm after. Age wise, someone between 25-34 would be my limit.
