I'm going to mention this part up front as it may deter some, and that's totally fine. I'm a white male here making this post.

So, why am I going to this concert and why might you want to join? One of my Chinese friends back when I was living in London got me into this artist knowing that I'm into all sorts of indie or sadboi music regardless of what language it's in. Plus, you know how friend groups usually have that one odd ball who sticks out but somehow it still works with the group dynamic? That's usually me whether it be the straight friend in my group of gay friends, the white friend in my group of diverse ethnic background friends, the grounded friend among my wild friends, or the wild friend among my introverted friends. Whatever the situation, it just sort of works.

Anyways, this year ahead of a CNY party I was going to, I was relistening to some of the Chinese/Taiwanese bands I like on Spotify—Spotify is my go-to method of seeing which artists I'm listening to are touring—and I saw Deca Joins had a couple concerts listed! But they only announced 2 shows in May in Australia. I was a little bummed out because I haven't lived or worked in Australia in a little more than 6 years, but that was fine. Even after CNY, I did keep listening to them to fit my mood, and that's when I saw they added some stops to their tour including right here in LA! So, I immediately bought tickets.

And that's kind of where I am now in wanting someone to go with me.

My only requests are that you speak Chinese and would be able to appreciate this fully, and that we have a moment to vibe check each other over the coming days before the show. Whether you're American born Chinese/Taiwanese, an international student/businessperson, here on holiday, or just really like the language and culture, please feel welcomed to reach out. If you're looking for this to be more than just a concert, I'm open to entertaining that. We'll just see where that aforementioned vibe check leads us. Oh! And please be vaccinated and aware of your health status should things warrant that.
