I've been stewing on this for a while. Apologies, redditors, who I've not been responding to.
I had 2 meets in November that have discouraged me in meeting up with new redditors.
Both people (men in early/mid 20s) had been vetted. They seemed receptive and good listeners. Despite that, both young men repeatedly broke consent, even when I said "I do not consent to [XYZ]" the first time it happened. You can't get clearer than that.
To BOTH of them, I had to walk through basic consent afterwards. Though they apologized, they also seemed shocked to hear they were in the wrong. That really concerned me.
The other 90% of meetups have been great TBH. Honestly, this soured my experience. A basic lesson that consent is: * freely given * reversible * informed * enthusiastic * specific
Have a lovely evening and stay consensual!

Edit1: Please don't use this post as an opportunity to hit on me in DMs.
Iām so sorry this has happened to you. Honestly state of sex ed is shocking in Australia.
