Photographing something captures a three dimensional object in a two dimensional image, and the perspective from which it is photographed determines what it looks like.
When describing ourselves we also have to make choices and choose perspectives, which means that any description involves shoe-horning ourselves into a form. We can try and posture in such a way as to offend the fewest people, or to appeal the most strongly to the people we want to impress.
We can communicate through what we say, and we can also communicate by how we say it, and personally I tend to put more weight into style over content when expressing myself, as well as when getting to know someone else. Whether having a serious discussion, talking shit, or sitting in silence, the nonverbal communication tends to convey far more meaningful information.
I could tell you a variety of facts about myself, my interests, my values and opinions, but you can find a lot of that in previous posts I've made. Since I assume that most of the people who see each post I make have also seen the preceding posts, I have chosen not to be too repetitive.
So what am I telling you about myself in this post to induce you to reach out and write to me? In short... nothing. But if you read between the lines, you are going to get a taste of the ways in which I think and see the world, as well as my general tone and demeanour.
What am I looking for? Diverting chats, candid conversation and, with luck, a lifelong partner in crime.
