So there's been a few posts asking for updates on successes and failures of posts on here and I thought I'd share. Two weeks ago I posted asking for a gym buddy to accompany me to a gym in Auburn. They would: - get a lift from the station - free entry and access to gym and classes - must be early morning

First person I met with lasted 1 session as we differed on what is appropriate conversation.

Second person I met with seemed lovely, we met 4 times, went for coffee after, they confirmed the night before then no showed, leaving me waiting for them at the gym doors, ghosted, blocked me, then the next day went back and deleted every message they had sent in our convo, despite there being no conflict, contentious or inappropriate chats that could lead to this.

Third person confirmed the night before and on the first meet no showed, ghosted then blocked me.

I've had 2 people reach out for the gym, try to turn the chat sexual and when it didn't work, ghost. 2 people ghost after asking to meet for coffee before going to the gym, no face to face ever happened. 5 people plain ghost while trying to organise a day. 4 people cancel day before. Still have 3 people trying to do an initial gym session in the next week.

I know I haven't been perfect at keeping up with messages, and there's still a few messages in my requests to reach out to. But my experience so far has been quite disappointing. I would have thought free access to a gym would be more appealing but apparently not.

I am appreciative of the people that reached out and were clear from their initial message that they were not looking for a gym buddy but something else. Being up front saves everyone's time and effort.

At this time I dont have a regular gym buddy that I'm confident in and have met regularly. I'm not sure what other platforms to use to find someone. I tried Facebook but there isn't anything that allows for r4r posts. Any help would be appreciated.
