Hi folks,

Don't exactly know how to start this off but HELLO ! I am a 29 year old dude from Sydney, Australia.

In the past few months, I've been feeling very listless, a bit bored, and despondent of things in general and I don't know why. Many of my friends have changed cities, gotten married, started having kids, etc etc, and it feels like I am just floating here aimlessly wandering through life. Life moves way too fast for it's own damn good !

It has improved a lot though, the last month I've been eating healthy, exercising more, and generally trying to absorb myself in things I find that interest me.

So I thought making a NEW friend might help that. I am a bit 'wary' however of online friends, sometimes it feels a bit artificial, but other times an online friend can be someone you can trust in and confide in more-so than an IRL friend. Which leads me to my second point - we don't have to talk everyday ! Sometimes there's a presumption or pressure of talking constantly, but we don't have to do that - it leads to unnecessary expectation and sometimes feelings are hurt.

Also just to point out - I am not looking for anything sexual or any lewd chats. Simply good conversation with a soon to be good friend. I am also open to meeting up eventually and doing stuff like hikes, bushwalks, board-games, introducing you to my existing friends, etc.

Anyway that's enough rambling, I will tell you a bit about me:

I have two degrees in the hard sciences
I have been playing guitar for the past 5 or 6 years but I am still pretty terrible.
I have a prominent scar on my right hand
I used to be able to run a sub 25 minute 5K - this is something I want to be able to do again !
I absolutely love my electronic music and music in general - there's no genre I wont listen to !
I can read and write in a non-Roman alphabet

About you :

In a similar time-zone to me would be great!
Somewhat disillusioned with life (just like me !)
Male or female, I really don't mind !
A love for music and the arts would be appreciated

I'm looking for a great friend with which I can talk to about anything and everything, photography, gardening, music, art, life, exercise ... whatever really. In general I prefer not to discuss too much politics or religion, I am mostly left leaning but with some caveats. All I ask is that you be genuine and authentic.

I am quite happy to trade pictures of myself and eventually move to another platform like Signal or WhatsApp.
