Hey everyone, I thought it might be useful to share some success stories. I know how demoralizing it can be to send message after message without any response or wade through a sea of junk to find what you're looking for. It's easy to give up hope so I figured it may be useful to share stories of the times you've been successful.

If you all like this sort of thing it could become a monthly thread. I think it would be great if more success stories were shared here. I'll start!

This was a few years ago from when I didn't just lurk and leave snarky comments. I responded to an ad from a girl looking to get a drink and then hook up if we hit it off. I messaged her with some info about myself, a photo, and what I was hoping for but really not expecting much.

A few days went by and I had mostly forgotten about it when she responded to my message saying that after reading through all of the messages she picked me and wanted to meet.

We chatted for a bit about some mutual interests before trying to find a day and time to meet. We cautiously established that we were both free that same night and would be open to meeting up even though it had only been a few hours. With both of us on board with that plan, I drove down to Queen Anne to meet her at a bar she selected.

We hit it off chatting over a few drinks and she eventually invited me back to her place. She lived a few blocks away so we walked over and even stopped for ice cream along the way. This was in August so it was one of those beautiful Seattle summer evenings that was perfect for a walk. I remember someone playing the piano on the sidewalk which really made the atmosphere just perfect. It was very cute overall.

Back at her place we were pretty comfortable with each other by now and things flowed smoothly to the bedroom. I ended up staying the night and drove home the following morning. She texted me saying she had a great time. We kept in touch and meet up a few more times until we realized that we were both quite liked one another and we started officially dating. This went on for a few months until she had to move out of town. Overall, she was really nice, pretty, and we had a great time together; way more than I expected from replying to a hook up post on reddit.
