Has your fire died down to just a tiny ember, buried amongst the ashes? Just a tiny glow, a fraction of what it once was?
Are you looking for someone to stir the ashes, uncover the ember? To blow on it, get it to glow brighter, nurture it and feed it, slowly giving it the fuel it needs to begin to get bigger, brighter, hotter? Little by little, small sticks of kindling begin to build, the fire coming back, just small flickers of flame at first, but growing. Sparks begin to waft up, the trails of smoke becoming more visible, adding pieces of wood, seasoned, and dry, eager to build the heat deep within you.
You remember this feeling, the deep passion, the want, the need. You want it back.
Together, we continue to add fuel to the fire, building it, growing it, making it bigger than it ever has been. The flames flickering fast and tall, the tips of the flames licking at the top of the fire box, the heat emanating throughout the room, warming the surface of your skin. The wood pops, and sparks erupt, tiny embers quickly race up the chimney, and travel out into the night sky.
We build the fire, a roaring bonfire of heat and passion, and then keep it going, maintaining it and feeding it, never letting it die down, always ready to add what is needed to keep the flame alive. The fire, a living, breathing creature that we have created, maintained, and that we continue to build upon. Providing each of us with the warmth we have once had, and that we desperately crave.
Today does not need to be a cool, rainy day in Seattle. It can be much more than that. Let me build your fire.
