Hi all, a change to the subreddit you all should be aware of:

Going forward every post will be locked and not allow any comments. As this is an r4r subreddit, most people are looking to connect and have a conversation in DMs, and not have their post commented on. Unfortunately we've had issues with antagonistic users spewing pathetic and hateful comments and so we're putting a stop to this behavior. If you're looking for a group discussion with a local community, please consider /r/Portland or /r/askportland

Also regarding spam - we know it's frustrating seeing spam posts on here, we see more of it than you do. Moderating is a part time job for us, but the spammers work full time. We have spam filters in place but for the ones that get through the cracks, the best thing you can do is to report them so it gets brought to our attention faster.

Make this sub what you want it to be, similar to upvotes/downvotes - reporting spam will make this sub a better experience. Thank you!

TL:DR - no more commenting, report all the spam you see!
