Seriously. It's just that simple.
I'm visiting the Sarnia area for work, have a lot of downtime in my hotel, and I don't know anyone in the area.
So my options are walking along the lakeshore on my own, hanging out in my hotel and ordering in, or meeting someone new and interesting.
That last one seems the most interesting. Why not take that chance?
We'll chat briefly (text, phone, whatever), swap pics, figure out where to grab food, and that's it. Let's go eat and talk and become good friends. We're only hanging out for a few hours, tops. We probably won't ever talk again. This isn't some creepy bait-and-switch where I'm trying to get laid. I would just prefer dinner with a friend than dinner alone.
If it helps, I've met people from Reddit before and it's (almost) always a positive experience. I'm educated and love my work. I'm respectful of people I'm around. I read a lot. I have amazing stories.
I would love to hear your stories. If I learn something new, even better.
Dinner would be on me, obviously.
Who wants to make a new friend?
Tell me about yourself. Ask whatever questions you have. Tell me your deep dark secrets over margaritas and/or coffee and/or Tim Horton's... or whatever else people in Ontario consume.
