I'm a 30 year old, 6'4", white male, who moved to Cambridge a few months ago and finally got my. Own place mid July. I work two-week rotating shifts at TMMC, switching between 6:30AM-3:30PM & 5:45PM-2:45AM.
I'm looking to make friends. If something more comes of it, great, but I'm not actively pursuing that right now. The reason it's 4F instead of 4R is that I'm more comfortable around women than other men; a side effect of the environment I grew up in.
It's also important to know a few things about me neurologically: I have Asperger's, ADHD, social anxiety, and am an introvert. While I want to talk to people and socialise, a part of me also wants to run away screaming from human interaction. This is usually seen as me being awkward and quiet, due to being unsure how to proceed with conversation or activities. This goes away once I feel like I know someone and am comfortable around them. You'll know I've gotten past this point when I want to curl up on a couch and show you one of my favourite sci-fi or fantasy series'.
I'm a huge nerd & geek, favouring videogames, boardgames, tabletop games/RPG's, and TV series. Escaping into a fictional world is such a wonderful experience. Sci-fi and fantasy are my favourites. I'm also pretty into technical DIY. I've had my own PCB's manufactured so that I could build custom electronics, I write my own programs from time to time, and am slowly expanding my own toolkit for wood working. I hope to one day have a garage workshop for carpentry & metalworking. IT is a huge thing for me, I love programming, scripting, and generally mashing multiple pieces of software together into a useful system for personal use (I run my own private cloud server with various services, as well as a home media server). Also big into computer hardware; I built myself a top-of-the-line VR rig for the Valve Index a couple of years ago.
I enjoy most genres of games, with the only standout exceptions being sports & JRPG's. My favourites are games that make me think, have a good story, and interesting gameplay. I'd rather play a shorter, meticulously crafted game over something that promises a rediculous number of hours but has a lifeless world or obsession with collectibles.
The Portal & Half-Life franchises, GTFO, Satisfactory, Burnout Paradise, Minecraft, Metroid, Untitled Goose Game, Smash Ultimate, Worms, World of Goo, and Sword & Sworcery are some favourites off the top of my head.
For TV/Movies, I'm a huge fan of His Dark Materials, The Expanse, Star Trek, Star Wars, anime in general (dubs, sadly. ADHD and subs aren't a viable combination), to name a few.
