So, I'll be honest. I've used Reddit to hook up before. Many times. And don't get me wrong, it's great. But I'm at a point in my life where I'm far enough away from my past relationship that it's maybe time for something more?

I'm sick of dating apps. I mean, I know we all are. Pretty much every match is made based on superficial short bios and/or photos and nothing else. On here, because it's a largely text-based platform, you're forced to engage. And I like that. Because if I'm going to get intimate with someone, I want to be into their brain too, you know?

I know posting here will make anyone reading this assume I'm butt ugly. And like, I know I'm not everyone's cup of tea, and that's perfectly understandable. I'm a plus size woman (about a size 22, for reference), and societal beauty standards haven't really caught up to me yet. I have a complicated relationship with my body, as most millennial women do, and I've lost a considerable amount of weight recently, with more to come. I'll never be skinny and I'm good with that. I like my legs. I like my hips.

But that's a bit of a tangent. To get back to the main point, I like to think I'm pretty cute. My arms are pretty tattooed, I also have a small one on my foot and a bigger one on my right shin as well, with a few more planned. Nose ring, a few earrings, shoulder-length brown hair with some remnants of dye growing out and little wisps of silver at my temples. I have big black glasses and like to wear a lot of black and leggings and oversized men's button down shirts.

I live alone in a cute apartment in central Brooklyn with soft lighting and over 30 houseplants. I work with words for a living, but also freelance doing some work that allows me to travel, and travel is the thing I love most in this world. I love dogs, but cats are cool too, although I'm slightly allergic to both. I spend too much time and money in thrift stores and discount stores. I'm lefty and switchy and yes I have kinks and we can talk about them forever. I don't necessarily believe in astrology but I do think it's fun. I have my shit together, or at least I'm good at pretending I do.

Also, I ID poly, but I'm not dating anyone at the moment. I think the ideal would be to find a primary partner, with some satellites also in my orbit.

I'm looking for people who are kind and nice and who know how to appreciate not just a body like mine but also a brain like mine. I like people who are creative. I like people who are stable. I like people who, though I know it's so cliche, can have a conversation, have interests, have passions. Who want to go out and see things but who also love to be homebodies (I've been spending a lot of time on my couch watching spooky movies lately). You should be around my age, but a bit younger (bottom limit probably 25ish) or a bit older (top limit probably 45ish) is okay too. In the past I've been financially taken advantage of by a partner so I'm pretty sensitive to that kind of thing and, as a result, success, whatever that looks like for you, is pretty important for me. Open to all races and many genders, but tend to prefer folks on the man to masc to nb spectrum. Also open to a lot of body types, but in general I don't tend to go for folks who are much fatter than me (taller is totally cool though, although short kings/queens are also welcome).

Let's go sit in Prospect Park or try a new restaurant or judge the art at a museum or get lost in IKEA or blush at each other from the opposite ends of my couch, or maybe let's do all of that and more?
