I'm a big fan of Kurzgesagt and just watched their video on loneliness - if even the word resonates with you, I encourage you to watch the 10min video. What I say here is based off of that video about chronic loneliness
Here are some noteworthy parts of the video
There is a difference between being lonely and being alone
If you feel lonely, you are. Your biology is probably telling you about your social needs
Most people stumble into chronic loneliness by accident - especially during adulthood
The most convenient and easy thing to sacrifice is time with friends, whether it be due to job, love, education
Your body will be put under stress from this condition
It can become a viscous cycle of feeling lonely or social pain leading to defensive behaviour, interpreting social signals incorrectly due to being in a state of "danger" - essentially assuming the worse about others intentions - you then protect yourself and become more lonely as a result
Or maybe your focus your attention on negative interactions, leading to more negative thoughts about yourself, which then leads to avoiding social interaction, which then leads to more isolation
Loneliness is a normal feeling and even a universal human experience
About me
A short bit about me to get an idea of who you are talking to. I like cooking, gardening, swimming, watching/discussing media, the environment, camping/hiking. Generally curious about anything and everything!
What I'm looking for
Someone that read this, thinks that it resonates with them, and looking to have a chat.
That you're willing to reach out with genuine intentions and try to push past that barrier.
That you will try to not assume how an interaction may go before you do it but that you can stop at any time if you're just not feeling it - and that's okay!
What I offer
I'm in the same boat, I'm trying to be proactive about it - don't think I'm any different. Being online, I feel like it can expand the type of people you may have otherwise not cross paths with in person.
Someone that will try to just chat and get to know you if you're willing to share.
