I’ve had a recent urge to have a hit of tennis more often, but the real tragedy is that 1) unsurprisingly, tennis is a two person activity, 2) I am very rusty at tennis and don’t have the mental fortitude to sign up for social games, and 3) it’s really goddamn cold these days.

Regardless, we soldier on and I’m hoping that someone out there might be in a similar boat of wanting to play some tennis (I’m mainly focussed on working on skill and fitness with rallies, but am not allergic to competition so if you want to play games, that can be arranged). And of course, someone who is undeterred by the early winter hitting us. No skill level requirement, but hopefully someone with some familiarity with tennis.

Ideally we would (shock horror) get to know each other as people. There’s maybe more to life than just your forehand. So I’m also looking for someone who is down for a good conversation about anything and everything.

I know this is a 2-way sell, so here’s a bit about me - I’m a 26 y/o Asian-Australian. Currently work in a corporate job doing the usual keyboard pencil pusher activities. Like to keep active and fit (hence the renewed interest in getting back into tennis - used to play up until high school ended). I hit the gym pretty frequently, go bouldering and hiking, and keen to try out other miscellaneous activities. Also a fan of the usual Netflix and chill, going to the movies and I’m trying to get back into reading. There’s maybe not enough time for all the things I’m trying to do, but I make it work.

I’m based around the inner city area so down for things around there/north but can also drive.

To further the sell, what I’m offering is: - a tennis rally buddy (it’s on the tin) - decent banter and conversation (in my biased opinion - always keen to hear about people’s interests and what they get up to) - company for any random events, gigs, activities you want to try out, etc (I like giving new things a shot so it’s a win-win if there’s something you’ve always wanted to do but haven’t gotten around to it…there’s always something)
