Ok... just found out this existed as a Reddit forum about 5 minutes ago. Had no idea Reddit even did a "personals" thing until now!

Anyway, about me? Twice divorced and have a 20 year old daughter who no longer lives with me. St. Louis, MO native who came back to the area after an 8 year stint out in the DC metro area for a job change. Wound up across the river on the IL side this time around though. (Limited budget and wanted to buy a house vs renting. Found better low-cost options here than in St. Louis, while still having a lower crime neighborhood.)

Working in I.T. (support analyst) and spend my free time surfing the net, watching (mostly sci-fi) shows or movies, playing a few video games (mostly BF2042 right now), doing a bit of food delivery stuff as a side gig for extra cash, doing the odd home improvement small project, and checking out local things to do and restaurants to eat at once in a while. I've got a small group of friends who get together about once a month to do a "happy hour" thing on the weekend, and a few others who live out of town so I only see them when I make a road trip to visit them, or vice-versa.

It's nice having the "no drama" low-key lifestyle going on for a change here ... but I just feel like I'd like to meet someone else fun to go do things with and spend some quality time with. Even if it's just shooting pool or darts at a corner bar, a good conversation over coffee at a local coffee house or doing something like one of the riverboat cruises they offer out here? There's just a lot of stuff that's not as enjoyable or doable at all by myself!

It'd be awesome finding a woman around my age (maybe 42 - early 50's?) who isn't interested in marriage but would like a relationship where we each have our place and stuff, but like spending time with each other.

The "dating sites" have been a total bust for me. Weirdly, I ran into so many women who smoke, and cigarette smoking is a pretty hard "no" for me. If you're honestly trying to quit, that's one thing. But I just don't like my clothes, house and car smelling like it constantly. Also have to say "nope" to anyone who is a hard-core religious type. (That's what amicably ended my second marriage, honestly.) I was raised Catholic but I'm basically Agnostic today. I'm libertarian, politically. Fine with interracial dating. Mostly listen to rock or alternative with a bit of punk or metal on the side. Not much of a fan of modern R&B, pop, rap or country music.

I have my doubts there are many women actually reading this stuff, but if you're in the metro St. Louis area or over here on the IL side of the river and interested? Hit me up!
