I wish I had a better grasp on figuring out dating and some more experience with getting to be an adult and get experience with it.
According to my understanding of the rules of acceptability in society / the "Don't be a creep" rule, my fating pool now can go as high as 42 and as low as 21 without it being seen as too weird. Now, I feel like I am not interested in that wide a range at the moment, so I am thinking more like 24 to 25 at the lowest end and maybe capping at 40 instead? But even though I know that there are lots of folks that are in that range, I am just not living in the best area for finding someone who suits me and seems to me that I don't suit anybody here all that well either. I mean, I'd be happy to potentially be proven wrong, but at the moment I am more looking for and hoping to have some practice or learn several lessons if there are some patient people who would like to offer me their insights and friendship.
I'm 6 feet tall, dark hair, bearded, and been masked up since before plague even made it to the US, because I was in China when it started. (Feel free to ask about that story if you'd like. It's a doozy.)
Do I think I will meet my forever partner and special someone(s(I'm poly, just so that is out there from the beginning)) on reddit? I mean, it doesn't seem super likely, but much like the 1 billion dollar lotto drawing, can't win if you don't play, so I am still trying. And, I have already made some friends through posts like these, so I am hoping to hear from someone and maybe they'll know someone or have a friend of a friend or who knowz, maybe I will actually be so blessed as to have the perfect fit for me just happen to be reading this right now and be overjoyed to say something to me as soon as they're done reading this post.
Anyways, if you're a leftist-leaning, kind, caring, cute, funny, fabulous fae of one form or another, and you're ridiculously nerdy in at least 3 ways, and you happen to be interested in making the first move on me, since I've made my move by sending out this message to the internet... or if you just want to hear the China story or share your own suggestions of how to try to find a real flesh-and-blood person somewhere offline instead of on reddit, that'd be okay too. I need some more connections of all/any kind, basically. I'm realizing that the open-ended/unstructured freedom of adulthood in the US in your late 20's is also kindof incredibly isolating and lonely. So, anyway. If you see this and I piqued your interest, then lemme know you read everything by saying "Hi but then Hi-Ho" and we can get to know each other better.
Thanks in advance for all of your patience in reading, and all the moreso for whatever education I might be about to receive. (Please don't make me regret this, I know the internet can be weird, but please, folks. And don't suggest tinder. Every post I've made on my orofile kind of shows that I'm not great at keeping it short, sweet and to the point. Online dating apps don't really work for me.)
