August is slipping away, and no bottle of wine is going to be enough for me. But, we persist.

Hey all. 31 year old college professor here. To say I moonlight as a writer or a gamer (although the latter really, truly, is for pleasure) would be far too uplifting of my efficacy at building a life off the activities I love. That being said, I sure do enjoy those past-times. I teach Communication classes and really, really love Pop Culture. I swear, I think I said “intertextuality” 15 times in a class on Thursday.

I’m really looking for anything, to be honest. A really really nice platonic friendship would be neat, as would some fling-ish flirtationship. And hey, if you’re the 1, that would be fun. My life right now is the occasional travel for department-building (or professional development, shout out if you live in New Orleans), teaching classes, eventually doing some more theatre as an assist to my departmental colleague, and then gaming or watching stuff at night. I’ve started my Ted Lasso rewatch, and I’m really excited for new wholesome content. Here are some other things I’m into -

Movies: The MCU, DC stuff is such a fascinating dumpster fire to watch. Everything Everywhere All At Once is my film of the year so far, and I really really love Horror films. Prey was INCREDIBLE. Elvis had me all in my feels. Ask me about my Letterboxd so I know it’s real.

TV: Stranger Things was lit af, Ted Lasso is really important to me, I’m mildly excited for The Rings of Power, and am tepidly excited for House of the Dragon. Big Sorkin fan. Big Succession fan. Teen dramas are my jam. I’m an OG for The OC. I need to get more into anime, but I’m all caught up on AoT, need to get back to Demon Slayer, and need to watch SpyxFamily. Yugioh will always have my heart.

Books: I’ve been reading Berzerk. But I genuinely do need to read more.

Video Games: I’ve gotten nearly to the end of Elden Ring? I think? Other than that I am big into Fire Emblem and Resident Evil TellTale’s The Walking Dead also made me weep.

Music: Taylor Swift (obviously), Charli XCX, getting into Daine, Green Day, Aaron West and the Roaring Twenties, The Wonder Years, Neck Deep…really any pop or pop punk. But I’m also big into musical theatre and metal.

Maybe possibly burying the lede here, but at the end of the day I am a kind, hopeless romantic, emotionally accommodating, handsome, tan, well-bearded bigger dude. With only 9 full fingers.
