Hey there soon-to-not-be-stranger! I'm in Seattle on a whim because life is short and so are you compared to me? Kidding! Unless you're taller than 6'… I'm visiting because I blocked off my birthday week and didn't make plans, so I booked a train from Oakland and an Airbnb near Pike to find better coffee than Starbucks and hopefully stumble upon something only being whimsical can make me collide into.
Okay, so why Reddit and what do you want?
I've met dozens of people from posts on here including when I'm on short trips to just hang out, talk about life, get boba, have dinner, go on a night drive to some part of town I'd never have gone because there's no way I could have known to go there, and more times than not, it has been an experience worth remembering. I could find a lifelong friend or a one-night hangout, but it's something that wouldn't have happened if I didn't post. So, we try.
Cool? Uh, so tell me about yourself in non-abstract terms.
Hello! I'm V, Southeast Asian, freshly 28 as of this midnight, officially dodging a membership for the 27 Club. I work with law and technology and I'm aiming to get a third degree by 30 so I can hopefully innovate in those two fields. I spend most Saturdays trying out a new food spot in the Bay Area with a book or good company before coming home to my foster-failed cat, Frida. Other evenings are filled with taking care of the 50-something plants in my home, reading something to pass the time, going down YouTube rabbit holes (recently, Trash Tate and Vtuber culture), getting re-addicted to Genshin Impact, long walks as the sun sets, and cooking some simple salmon dish or some Korean marinated meat for tomorrow's lunch. I've been told by friends that I'm emphatically fictional and carry myself like a TV sitcom character with volumes of depth. I've also been told I'm so so kind and have a nice voice. Something I want to do before I'm 29 is accrue interesting experiences to make the next great tragedy a little less great.
I'm sold-ish? How do we do this…?
As a last vibe check, I'm the kind of person who goes to a party expressly looking for people who do not want to be there and say, "Let's do something else." And we end up finding cornhole at midnight until the cops come because we're trespassing, or we look for the only open donut shop or milkshake-ery within 10 miles, while getting to know one another. So, how do we do this? Name something you want. Let's go and find it. We could also meet at a bar (I don't drink much) or a restaurant you've wanted to try, and just talk. Or, we can go for a Target run and judge one another for whatever the snack and brand choices are. Point is, let's just go.
Chat soon, yeah?
