Me: Retired attorney / geologist / craftsman. Well educated in other arenas. Well traveled (Europe, all over US, Egypt, Belize, Jamica) and I intend to travel much more. Fit, competent, ambivert, compassionate. And relevant to this ad, a fairly skilled motorcyclist with plenty of experience, mainly in my former haunts of Eastern Tennessee. I've also done some longer trips.
My bike: I'm riding currently a Moto Guzzi California, a moderately large fancy modern motorcycle that's quite capable. I've ridden with people on all kinds of bikes, including 250 cc VStar and such. It's all good. I will ride my pace, comfortably.
Where: I live right near Old Town Alexandria, which is a terrible place for motorcycling. This time of year, I'd like to head out towards W Va, up into Maryland, maybe up to Gettyseburg. Take the back roads, find some fun places to see. And of course, if leaving very early, hit some stretches of the Skyline Drive.
When: I'm retired, so during the week is really great.
You: Reasonably competent on your bike. Something that has the legs for an Interstate run to get somewhere. Someone who has fun, doesn't whine, can take care of themselves. I tend to get along with women and bi guys better than the macho motorhead types, although there have been exceptions.
You option 2: I'd consider having someone very compatible and on the shorter lighter end of things ride on the back of my bike. It's pretty good for that, and reasonably comfy, as motorcycles go. It's not a Goldwing or anything, and is pretty stiff, but the extra weight is nice.
