It's been quite a while since I last did one of these, and every other time has been on the lesbian version of r4r, because I was previously only interested in connecting with other women. This is no longer the case, though women are of course still encouraged to hit me up. It's just that I'm now also open to men, or nonbinary people, or, I don't know, whoever. All I ask is that you, for the love of god, not be boring.

Okay, that's not actually all I ask. I also ask that you be childfree, or if you already have a kid, not interested in having any more, that you're monogamous and no younger than 27, that you love or at least like cats, that you don't smoke or drink to excess, that you're left-leaning politically, and that you read for pleasure. I realize that last thing is a bit of an outlier, but I've learned over the years that I just find it very difficult to click with people who don't love books. I don't even really care what genres you read, as long as you read.

As for me, I've recently come to realize that I have no idea what my sexuality is, so I just use queer for now. Alternatively, I am chaossexual, as in, it's absolute chaos figuring out who I'm attracted to and why and in what way, and the surprise discoveries are part of the fun for me. I identify as tentatively Christian, but, like, progressive Christian, and I don't care what your spiritual beliefs are or if you even have any, as long as you don't look down on me for mine or try to keep me from practicing them. I once called myself a solitary witch, and there are still many things about witchcraft that appeal to me. Likewise with most other spiritualities. I'm a radical leftist, pro-choice, pro-BLM, anti-capitalist, a supporter of trans people and trans rights, disabled people and disability rights, etc etc. Conservative people are a really hard sell, but I have more respect for them than for those who are apolitical. That's a definite no-go.

I'm into horror in all forms, from movies to books to podcasts to...whatever other mediums exist and are accessible to me. I would love to play horror video games, but I'm unable to access most of them because I'm totally blind. Talk to me about your favorite subgenres, especially movies, and if you wanted to watch some with me, I would love that. I also write, mostly poetry these days, and I've been published a couple of times in online magazines. I lack the discipline and focus for novel writing, but I have several novel-length ideas percolating in my brain nonetheless, and I've love to hear about yours. Plants are very important to me and I love gardening, despite my complete lack of a green thumb. I am a horticultural serial killer at this point, but I keep trying. I aspire to have a garden full of flowers and herbs. I collect indie perfumes, tea sets, and vinyl.

DND is my most recent obsession. I'm only at the character creation stage and have never played a game, but I'm having a great time so far. A friend is DMing a solo campaign for me because I'm a giant baby who is too anxious to play with other people until I know what I'm doing. I want to play almost every class and several races and backgrounds, so hopefully I'll enjoy it enough to continue with it and make multiple characters. I would love to discuss the game and hear about your characters and experiences, particularly if you're as socially anxious and awkward as I am and have managed to make it work with an actual group.

Musically I'm pretty all over the place, but I favor folk and indie, with some hip-hop and pop thrown in for spice. My Spotify playlists are extensive and awesome, and I would enjoy exchanging music. Concerts I've attended include Iron & Wine, Andrew Bird, Regina Spektor, Hozier, The Mountain Goats, Chance the Rapper, Borns, and, most recently, Penny and Sparrow, who are my current favorite band.

This is so long, I'm sorry! I ramble, both in text and voice, though in text it's due to enthusiasm and in voice it's due to anxiety. I would like to move from Reddit to another platform fairly quickly, but you'll have to exercise some patience with me if you want to voice chat.
