Hello hello I'm interested in hearing thoughts and experiences regarding going solo to a bar whether it's for the drinks or vibes. I'd say I'm an extroverted introvert so I like being around people but not necessarily interacting with them. The sonder that accompanies being invisible to a room full of stranger makes me feel less alone. I'm talking more about "nicer" bars such as pop-ups, themed, or upscale bars.
I'm hesitant for various reasons and this is where I'd appreciate advice! 1. Is it rude to the establishment to sit at a table alone for extended periods of time? 2. Is it rude to want little interaction with people at a bar? Including the bartender 🥲 3. Is this even safe/a good idea?
Going to cafes alone for a coffee, to read, or to do work is perfectly normal but the same doesn't seem to apply to bars. Maybe I'm just romanticizing the idea of enjoying a pretty drink at an aesthetic bar but in theory it sounds like a good time! Feel free to tell me if you justifiably think im being a dumb airhead but hopefully i'm not the only one who thinks this 🥺 PS recommendations in the DC area are appreciated
