Hello! I feel like a strong foundation for a relationship starts with two people who feel fairly well complete on their own. I don't want someone to need me, but to choose to share their life with me. I find that concept much more appealing and meaningful.
I currently live north of Boston in my own place and enjoy the company of three cats, two dogs, two birds, and some fish.
I work in Boston at a respected fine arts museum and I get a significant amount of fulfillment from my work. I work directly with the collection in a variety of ways which include physically handling the artwork and generally ensuring its care. I get to creatively solve a lot of challenges, which often includes fabricating things by hand.
I also work a second job part time job, which is considerably less interesting but it's consistent and near home. It does make my schedule a little full and currently only leaves me with one full day off a week.
I have a background in studio art and I try and stay creative. Mostly that has been with photography, specifically nature photography. I even won an award at a local fair for a photograph of a nuthatch! Recently I've finally started taking clay classes after want to for YEARS, and I'm really enjoying the medium and hope to continue with it. I also enjoy the odd home improvement project and building utilitarian things.
I really enjoy the outdoors, though I'm mostly a casual hiker, biker, and kayaker. I've always found a good forest bath to be recharging for the soul, and especially like taking my camera with me when I hike or kayak. Sometimes I don't get very far because so much can catch my interest, but that's fine with me!
I'm a reformed gamer, as in I don't currently carve out a lot of free time for gaming, but I've played a wide variety of video games including MMORPGS and table top D&D/GURPS/White Wolf was a big hobby of mine for years. In other words, I'm a bit of a geek, lol.
I'm also a big fan of Sci-Fi/Fantasy and I enjoy the DC/Marvel cinematic universes, but never quite got in to comic books.
Looks-wise, I've included some photos. I like to refer to myself as short, dark, and homely 😉. I'm 5'7" tall and stocky, around 200lbs last time I weighed myself. I think I wear it well though, haha.
