Apparently a Strava link is considered personal information, but I do have a little bit of pacing info below. It's not really ideal, but whatever.

I live in the North Loop, to give some context for where I run.

I'm not going to drive somewhere to run. Riding my bike a short distance could work on the weekends. My coach has me cycling currently on Mondays and Thursdays during a VO2 block. I'm not sure how long that is going to last. Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday have generally not been intervals, so those would be the easiest days to have a running partner. I suspect going a little slower on those days wouldn't hurt me. If nothing else, we can give it a shot once. Honestly, not sure how well Wednesdays would work, but I guess if you have a similar work schedule or can just meet in North Loop, it could work.

I probably sound super-serious because I have a coach, but that's because I have a specific target time in mind. It doesn't mean I'm a good runner. Back in middle school and high school I did run track. I won some races. My 4x400 team even finished 7th at states, but that was over 20 years ago.

Since getting a Garmin watch almost a year to the day ago, my fastest recorded mile has been 7:23. Could I run a faster mile now if I set out to do that? Almost certainly. In June I PRed my 5k, 10k, and Half Marathon (at least as far as Garmin is concerned and those might well be true PRs since I ran shorter distances in high school...never ran cross country because of soccer). I'm on Garmin connect, and happy to share that, but there's nothing on Garmin that isn't on Strava so seems gratuitous considering I feel like I'm already close to the line on the personal info.

I am, at heart, a cyclist, but I decided to do a 50-mile run in October to see if I wanted to attempt 100-miles. I might do the 100-mile later in October, but I can't see myself wanting to do more running training in the future. I enjoy getting from point A to point B more quickly on a bike, though I do enjoy the simplicity of running. I have plenty of cyclist friends, though I am happy to add to those too. I suppose I could join a running club, but since I have cycling events on October 9 and 16, idk that I want to get involved in a running club. I should probably look into it a bit.

Why reddit? Well, posts on Strava don't seem to work that well. There's a running specific site for matching people, but it seems to be in infancy. I just don't have enough friends that run for twitter, facebook, etc to be useful, though I haven't given facebook groups a good shot.

I am up for suggestions on meeting runners in the Twin Cities.

Regarding the pacing situation, that's probably something to be discussed on a run, but if anybody is looking for a pacer for reciprocation, but not a training partner, we can discuss in a dm (since comments are not allowed).
