Hello Reddit! I've been having a hard time lately with life, work and friends. I am looking to gain more friends of the female persuasion and just see where things go.

A few things I wanted to say upfront: Yes, I am still in contact with my "Ex" but the "relationship" is so off and on and there is a lot of problems that keep ending it over and over, so I know it won't last long-term. I love this person very much but it's just not going to work with her, she's extremely temperamental and unpleasant most of the time, so I try to remain at the very least a very close friend of hers (she lives in Maryland) she tends to lose friends and has PTSD and Trauma issues so I'd hate to abandon her like that. I need someone who is going to be kind, caring, honest, compassionate, and affectionate and she is rarely any of those

I am also talking to a few other people, one girl in Texas and another in Florida. These two individuals I am doubting their identity. they always have some excuse to not video chat, or do a phone call so I doubt they are who they say they are, but I keep them around as at least friends for now unless they can prove themselves real. Also, another nice lady I am talking to who is in Georgia where I live is always too busy with work to hang out in person.

All my friends have become too busy and somewhat distant and also unpleasant to be around lately, so I am seeking new friends who are better suited for me. I am a heterosexual man so I am attracted to women and that is why I am seeking female friends to see which one becomes serious and can become official.

There are Requirements due to the prevalence of cat-fishing plaguing the internet nowadays:

​

1. Within the first 2 weeks I would like to do a video chat to confirm both parties identities and prove they are real and who they say they are, please do not reply if you have no intention on doing occasional video chats/phone calls

2. Do not ask me for anything, I have been romance catfished before and it always lead to being eventually asked to help them with something

3. Be serious and have the intention of actually meeting one day if things become serious

4. Don't have to be drop dead gorgeous, but there has to be some attraction physically. I like Cute and Curvy women..

5. Just be a good/nice person, I don't like mean girls (teasing is fine and flirting and sexual stuff is great but nothing overly perverse I am looking for legitimate connections something real and long term if it becomes serious)

6. Regular Video chats, maybe once a week or so and with the intention of staying at least friends no disappearing after you've had your fun/fill.

7. Be somewhat good at keeping a conversation going, I appreciate reciprocity and I am a great conversationalist, have a genuine interest and just be true

A little about me:

I have been discouraged by online dating apps (catfish, non-committals, escorts) and cold approaching women nowadays just doesn't work. So I hope posting on Reddit will give me better luck. I am tired of the casual sex/hookup culture we have today, I am real and want to form new friendships and if things become serious, form a long lasting committed relationship. I am honest and open and will let you know if anything becomes serious with any of the other people I am chatting with. I am a good person, I am kind, compassionate, funny, Romantic, Affectionate, Loving and supportive. I love people, and enjoy having fun and connecting, I am into younger women as it keeps me feeling young and I also enjoy taking on a supportive role as the older one in the friendship/relationship. I have integrity, character and always try to do what is best and be responsible. I am also sensitive and have a big heart and am very caring.

I enjoy playing games online and would love to have someone to play game with occasionally: Elder scrolls, Earth defense force, For honor, Ark: survival Evolved, monster hunter world, anything really I am up to anything new and fun.

I enjoy playing guitar, I also write my own music (Metal/Rock) I listen to a lot of German heavy metal and American heavy metal. I can speak German fluently, and I also enjoy Latin but am not so good with it. Any polyglots or those who love new languages would be very interesting to talk to.

I am fascinated and drawn to math, psychology, science, CAD 3D modeling: Physics, Trigonometry (weak in this) Algebra (my favorite) Quantum mechanics (confusing), attachment theory etc..

My passion is electrical engineering, Mechatronics, mechanical engineering and I am pursuing a career in those.. I enjoy learning about the world around us and I value rationality and reason/logic when it comes to such things. Empirical, repeatable, testable, verifiable science, I like to know the absolute truth and not leaving such things as to how the world works to opinion.

I was raised Christian but left religion in my mid 20's and adhere to scientific truth instead, I am not against someone being religious but I prefer science and logic over such things, I don't believe you need god or the bible to be a good person to love and care about others.

My mentality is: "you get out what you put in", if you are truly interested in someone and wish to get to know them or work on something serious, that is where you will put your focus. I understand life is hectic and stressful and we all get busy, but I appreciate occasional updates and being open about things please. I am an open heart and sensitive, warm and affectionate but I can also stand up for myself and be firm, direct, honest and forward. I need people who are good with having discussions and having a dialogue, I've had relationships in the past where tensions flare from a misunderstanding and refuse to discuss and work things out, I am very diplomatic and professional when it comes to conflict resolution (part of valuing rationality over feelings in disagreements)

I have always adhered to a life of Stoicism, but I am not strict on that; basically I value being rational and having greater control over my emotions, I enjoy giving things a good, meaningful thought before proceeding when it comes to something serious. This only applies to negative emotions and being cautious in terms of falling in love and conflict resolution, rather than to joy, happiness, kindness, being emotionally available and caring.

So, if you are interested in having good talks, connecting, gaining new friends, having fun, meaningful/interesting conversations and seeing where things go I would love to hear from you, I put a lot of thought and effort into this post, so I would appreciate something substantial in regards to a first time greeting, as first impressions are quite telling as to the nature of your intentions/investment priorities.
