Post Body

Every couple months I post here but it looks like work has me swamped. Like anyone going through life changes, my hobbies have adapted accordingly since my last post. Meaning most of the things I did before was replaced with sleep or laying in bed wondering why I'm completely drained after the work week.

About me: - My hobbies at the moment are scanning Reddit, playing Call of Duty mobile on my breaks/lunch, working on a circular jigsaw moon puzzle, doing way too much research about home servers and computer parts, and perfecting pan searing steak (I'm a medium rare gal and my partner is a medium well). - Values being direct and honest, but empathetic. I've been told by my friends that I'm a good therapist for them, which is a double-edged sword. On one hand, I feel validated that I can provide perspectives to help them through their issues. On the other hand, they only come to me with their issues. If you worked out that equation, that ends up with me not really building a fun and active friendship. - I have a sensitive nose, not into recreational drugs and especially off-put by toxic weed culture. However, I drink til' tipsy, which is a couple beers for me, maybe twice a month. - I don't use standard social media like Facebook, Snapchat, etc. Instagram maybe a couple times a year to let people know I'm alive.

What I'm looking for, hm. My boyfriend asked me this question the other day which got me thinking that maybe I didn't know what kind of female friend I wanted since my life generally seems like a closed network. But some basics, I think, that make a good friendship are: - Commitment. In a world of transient friendships and people only posting when they're lonely and then disappear off the face of the planet when they're less lonely, I really value people sticking around. I'm talking about mailing you something because it reminded me of you. If we don't vibe, I'm cool with you telling me. My feeling won't be hurt. My feelings will be hurt, however, if you ghost me. ): - Emotionally stable. That doesn't mean you're always happy. It means you're aware of when you're not happy and know what works for you to ride it out or express it in a way that doesn't involve blaming things/people that don't deserve it. - Knows how to let things go. I experience way too many petty people who can hold onto the smallest things for years. We're not going to agree on everything and may get into heated arguments or miscommunications, that's inevitable. We come to a compromise, either agree to disagree or fight to the death!

It'd be cool if you were a reader. I would really like to have a reading buddy for the "His Dark Materials" series before the show finishes. I also want to find motivation to reattain my splits. Work requires some physical activity and I've let myself go limber-wise.

If you're still around and not completely intimidated by my clear trauma of being ghosted or needless headaches, message me. My previous posts are pretty detailed too if you want to take a gander. I only use texting and Discord to chat. I have mild aversion to excessive chatspeak. Responses unlikely to come every day, it's depending on what my brain permits. Let's be honest, talking takes energy. This post alone burned out my weekend brain.

EDIT: Shit, my post put the moon on the thumbnail. 😂 Oh well.
