If you love them too, any person at all, you might as well post or PM. But that's not the purpose of this ad exactly anyway!
I'd like to meet some people who live nearby. Dating potential maybe, but I really enjoy making friends regardless. I'm big into video games and anime/manga, while music may be the thing most expressive of my personality. Going out to eat is cool too - sushi, yum. Still, I don't know who shares my kind of music tastes - they are eclectic tastes.
Chvrches is my favorite right now. I get a futuristic vibe from them, just see the music videos "Lies" and "Recover". The sound is dark, but other times really positive about caring sort of emotions. Compared "Mother We Share" to "Science/Visions". And then any band that fits the word "science" in a song is all sorts of cool to me. I really wanted to go to their concert in NYC in May, but last I saw, the show was sold out.
Part of why I like Chvrches so much is that to me, I hear a lot of Depeche Mode influence, maybe more than other people may find. Then again, I really love Depeche Mode, so I practically look for the influence. Ladytron has Depeche Mode influence too. I guess anything remotely synthpop of the "dark" or even "cyberpunk" sort is something I like a lot. Think of Covenant, Assemblage 23, VNV Nation. The specific bands don't matter as much as the sound. Skinny Puppy probably doesn't get enough credit for impacting that music style. "Tin Omen" is a cool song by the way.
Goth is another genre I like, but really it's any form of postpunk. I've listened to Killing Joke (more postpunk than anything, I know) and Bauhaus a lot. Probably Bahaus because Chvrches recently covered Bela Lugosi's Dead. Then some goth music from the batcave club like Specimen in particular. Besides that, I'm a die hard fan of The Cure, even want to a concert of theirs about two years ago. Then there's Siouxsie & The Banshees, Joy Division, Xmal Deutschland, Skeletal Family, a little Death in June.
If goth wasn't enough for my preference for introspective, I like emo, too. Texas Is The Reason, Mineral, Sunny Day Real Estate, Rites of Spring (more so hardcore though), American Football, Get Up Kids.
Random bands/musicians to mention: Strawberry Switchblade. The Smiths, Bow Wow Wow, Savages, Smashing Pumpkins, Lady Gaga, My Chemical Romance, Franz Liszt, Vince Guaraldi, The Ramones, The Shangri-Las.
So, yeah, lots of music! PM me maybe?
