Hey there, nice to meet you! 😄
I'm 5'0"/153 cm (a shorty with a lotta personality, in the land of giants!), ~53 kg, green-grey eyes, enjoy the gym but love cozy nights playing games, and usually have my hair red or brunette. I'm originally American, and living permanently now in the Netherlands in Amsterdam.
I am looking for nearby (Netherlands only) chill gaming buddies to eventually perhaps meet and have gaming or show-watching sessions with.
I'm mainly a Steam PC gamer who loves to play Path of Exile 2, Destiny 2, and Genshin. Don't mind if you're competitive with others, but not with me. I play for fun and good story or gameplay, so if someone's first instinct is to say "drop that raid report" like a wannabe video game elitist, don't message, I've outgrown dealing with the internet toxicity BS. Age range 25-39 preferred.
If you message me, tell me it's from r4r, your age, where you live, and a bit about yourself like what games you play or shows you watch. Sending a picture of yourself helps a lot and I can return it - reddit lets you do that after I accept your message request! :) If you are hesitant to show a photo in the first few messages, then I understand, but that is not for me.
Some of my interests include:
- Drinks (though I'm no expert I love to mix some as well, alcoholic or otherwise 🍹). Love when someone can appreciate a Hennessy or cocktail
- Fooood! Tell me your favorites, or even show me how to make them! ^_^
- Reading (though sometimes it's off and on, I do love it so) and the occasional musing about art (do you like theater plays/opera/classical shows?)
- Video games! Destiny 2 (mainly raids and dungeons now), Baldur's Gate 3 is a gem, Diablo IV is fun, Path of Exile is such a thorough action RPG, Path of Exile 2 is fantastic for early access, Hogwarts Legacy was nice (tell me if you had a crush on Hermione from HP at some point), Life Is Strange, and other narrative games. Sun Haven is one of my relaxation stations, Genshin, The Sims, The Last of Us, Silent Hill 2, Horizon Zero Dawn/Forbidden West, lots of other games in the past. I love RPGs especially. But please don't open with "let's start a BG3 playthrough"; people, that's a huge commitment, I can hardly believe how many messages start with that as if it's going to be some 2-hour affair.
- Watching shows and movies! BoJack Horseman and Black Mirror are some of my absolute favorites, along with occasionally a few political ones like Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. Monty Python and The Room (oh god) are also fantastic. What genres do you like?
- Adventures like roadtrips and traveling (if you have a car or can host it's a plus!), and going to saunas or thermal baths is a love of mine. 🚿 I've lived in the US, the Netherlands, Norway, South Korea, and Japan, and have been to many other places. And I've happily found my home here in NL. :)
I mesh best with those who can experience the world from the perspective of an appreciative artist. I'm generally a pretty open and accepting person, but if you like drinking karnemelk straight, we may need to have a very stern talk. 😶
Hope to hear from you if you're a person with a warm heart and a kind personality, who is in touch with their emotions and a reasonably self-actualized individual. I value cognitive and emotional intelligence, empathy, and vulnerability among friends and partners alike. 😊
