Hey y'all, I am coming to the Big Easy (do y'all still call it that) from like, the 19-23, for an academic conference. I travel a lot for work, but often time am with college students, so I can't exactly relax and unwind in super social ways. This trip, however, I am flying solo. I would love to find a local to connect with, see if we click, and see what happens? I always love finding some cool places to drink and sing karaoke, but also am equally interested in amazing food and local sites and adventures. I'll have my own hotel room downtown, but otherwise no car or anything. I recognize the tenuous political hellscape we're in, and I have a lot of empathy about the implications these election results have on marginalized groups. If you want to talk shit on the Democratic Party for their weird strategies, that could be a very fun time, but again, it just sucks, and it's sad. More...fun...vibes surround the fact that I love movies (just saw We Live in Time...heart-wrenching), music (Short n' Sweet has been spinning for me quite often), video games (I need to pour so many hours into Metaphor Refantazio), and TV (need to binge all of Agatha All Along and The Penguin). Some random names and things of those genres that I also like - the MCU, the DCEU, Oscar-slanted movies (I really wanna watch Anora), a good ol' rom com, horror films in general, the first few seasons of Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon, The West Wing, The Newsroom, The OC, Taylor Swift, Charli XCX, The Wonder Years, Chappell Roan, Gracie Abrams, Resident Evil, Fire Emblem, Gears of War, Halo, Persona, Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy, Dark Souls, Elden Ring, anyway so so so much. If it's pop culture, I've probably seen it/consumed it, or want to, or would let you show me it.
