So, before you point your fingers at me, let me explain HAHA. My friend started this thing where he only gets into one-month relationships. At first, I thought it was a little strange, but when he explained it, it made sense.
Here’s the gist:
- A time-bound relationship forces you to have a conversation about intentions, expectations, and boundaries. That alone removes a lot of the messy stuff that comes with “going with the flow” and breakups.
- It removes the "forever" pressure, so instead of stressing about the future, you can focus on making the most of the time you have.
- And, when the month ends, you can choose to keep going or part on good terms, without drama as long as everyone communicates honestly.
I laughed it off at first, thinking, “Nice in theory, but it’d never work in practice.” But curiosity got the best of me, and I asked someone I met online if she’d be down to try it. Surprisingly, she agreed!
Admittedly, it was a little odd at first, but the time-sensitive commitment removed so many barriers you’d usually experience. We ended up having an incredible time, learning so much about ourselves, and the experience was unexpectedly healing and eye-opening.
By the time we hit the 30-day mark, we mutually decided to wrap things up, but honestly, she’s now one of my closest friends. Who would’ve thought, right?
With that explanation out of the way, here are a few details if you're interested:
- I’m in California, but I’d prefer for us to keep things online. My circumstances don’t really allow me to be out and about.
- My music taste leans toward Hip-Hop and RnB, though I’m down for anything that vibes—including a bit of K-Pop now and then.
- I’m on a health and self-development journey right now, so if you're working on something similar, let’s keep each other motivated!
- These days, I’m mostly into indie games (don’t worry, I’ve officially sworn off Valorant and League—self-care, am I right?). But I'm always up to try something new if you have suggestions!
- I’m a bit of an isekai slob, but I’m really into Yakuza Fiancé at the moment. Open to recommendations if you’re into manga/anime too.
- Open to video calls, phone calls, and any other way you’re comfortable connecting.
- I'd prefer if you were 21
- If it matters to you, I'm a Pisces and I can do card readings lmao
- And of course, let's remain friends if it doesn't work out!
Thanks for reading this far! If you just have questions about how this works, please feel free to reach out! Regardless, I hope we find our forever person :)
