It's been almost a year since I've last posted, and, refreshingly, not a lot has changed; I am continuing my kick ass job, I am becoming notable in my field, I still super love girly pop, horror movies, and video games. But I have lost like 20 pounds!

For reference, I told myself I wouldn’t make a new R4R unless I made a marked change in my personal life in terms of personal health. I have started going to the gym regularly since halfway through the summer, and look forward to continuing that health journey. I have included a link to some pics at the bottom to show some progress. Basically, right now I’m a 5’11, black haired, brown eyes, tan, handsome teddy bear, who wants to become an even sexier teddy bear. I have nice hands, thicc thighs and calves, and a deep voice. Sometimes I can grow a pretty nice beard, and I always have a pretty strong haircut game.

The TL:DR of what I’m looking for is somewhere between an online friend with benefits and/or an adventure buddy from the PNW. I’m currently single but pretty emotionally unavailable, so I just want to make that clear. I don’t really want to get into that too deeply, but I’m kind of just in my “let love find me” phase, because looking for it historically hasn’t been too healthy for me.

A bit more about me: I’m a college professor, and I say that not in a fetishy way (power distance sickens me), but more for like a “oh you have an attractive job” kind of way, like a marine biologist, or the opposite of a cop. I’m a bleeding heart leftist, voting third party in this election (Free Palestine) and believe in decolonization, acab, trans rights are human rights, abortion is health care, borders are oppressive structures, etc.

I do think that like, well-intentioned individuals can be really nice people, but that there is just a corporate duopoly that has ravaged the American political landscape. I also think how both major parties treat the geographic location the western world calls The Middle East is really fucking infuriating.

If you’ve made it through my political rants, enjoy some more specifics of the things that I love that are also less stressful and more entertaining:

Movies: I’m a big movie guy. 95% of the movies I watch I find something to like within, but I also am really happy for awards season, and like, critical darlings. The flip side is, I’m also super into The MCU, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, most of DC’s movies, Mission Impossible, and stuff like that. Romantic Comedies are also pretty sweet for my hopelessly romantic ass. I super duper love horror movies, and think they make great dates. I just saw Terrifier 3, and was happy that like, some gendered violence happened to a MAN this time around. I’m really excited for Smile 2. Longlegs is still probably my favorite from this year, but I also need to see Strange Darling and The Substance.

TV: In the past years I’ve binged Lost and Modern Family. I also really like Aaron Sorkin’s shows, The OC, and am currently, slowly, working through 7th Heaven and all its corniness. The Star Wars universe of shows is really fun, and I really wish The Acolyte got renewed. Very excited for Andor Season 2 and wherever The Mandalorian ends up. I’m currently catching up on Rings of Power, The Penguin, and Agatha All Along. From is on my list of things to watch, and I need to get back to Invincible and The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon. Finally, I absolutely love professional wrestling.

Music: Short n Sweet, Brat, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, and The Secret of Us are some of my favorite pop albums recently. The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology has certainly grown on me, but Taylor Swift, as much as I enjoy all of her music, is someone whose music from a past era I like the most (folklore/evermore, to be clear). Still, I am very very excited for Rep TV. Beyond the pop of it all, I really enjoy The Wonder Years, Neck Deep, Green Day, My Chemical Romance, and am excited to see what Linkin Park does with Emily Armstrong as a new singer. I also love classic rock (Bruce Springsteen, The Beatles, The Who), metal (Iron Maiden, Ghost, Avenged Sevenfold), and musical theatre. I like a few rap and country albums sprinkled in here and there, too.

Video Games: I own all major consoles, as well as a gaming PC. I am super excited to start Metaphor ReFantazio soon (P3R and P5R broke my heart), love Resident Evil, Fire Emblem, Mario Party, Dead by Daylight, Elden Ring and all the Soulsborne games, Kingdom Hearts, Halo, Gears of War, God of War…honestly, so so much. Dragon Quest XI and Final Fantasy XVI are some of the greatest RPGs of all time, IMO. I’d absolutely love someone to game with, if I’m being honest. Like, nothing tests a friendship like Mario Party!
