Before I introduce myself and then ramble about music, shows, and games I like, (that's just my style) I will briefly explain that I am looking to talk over reddit for a night, or maybe longer if we really hit it off. I'm mostly just looking to discuss interests.
So anyways! Some details about me are:
I am an extremely amateur musician, specifically I played the tuba, piano, and bass guitar. I've been out of practice for a while...
I have worked in retail, in offices, for both private businesses and the government. Nothing glamorous or exciting though, just normal minimum-wage stuff.
For fun, when I'm not spending time with my friends, I usually either play video games...or smoke marijuana while listening to music.
Speaking of which, I just recently finished a two month break from weed. It's been nice to take it slow after starting again.
When I'm feeling blue and need an escape from life, I like to eat ice cream while watching anime.
I am a (former but soon-to-be continuing) student at a local college where I got my Associates degree in the Scienes and Arts. Which isn't worth much, in case you were wondering...
I am single, straight, and cisgendered
I'm out of things to say so I'll just list all the art/entertainment that I like.
Music:
I am a big fan of progressive rock and jazz fusion, I mostly listen to the classics however I enjoy some of the modern prog and fusion too. I also enjoy comedy music, classical music, and to a lesser degree the classics from 70s and 80s pop/rock, and just a tiny-little-bit of worldbeat, reggae, funk, and rap.
TV Shows:
I really like fantasy shows (Avatar: both The Last Airbender and Legend of Korra, The Dragon Prince, House of the Dragon, Netflix's She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, the Sharpe series, Into the Badlands, etc).
I also like comedies (Bob's Burgers, What We Do in the Shadows, Futurama, Disenchantment, It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, etc).
And once in a while educational programs (Planet Earth, Last Week Tonight, etc)
Games:
The game I play the most these days is Apex Legends. While I do like the game, my interest has been waining somewhat recently.
I just got Paper Mario: TTYD on Switch, I've also been playing some Pokémon Shining Pearl, my friends who are waaay into Pokémon have been helping me fill out the Pokédex.
A few months ago I beat Super Mario Wonder, I got every wonder seed but opted not to go for every purple coin. I had been playing lots of Pikmin 4, I've almost 100% every single area, but I am taking a short break before the end. There are TONS of other games I want to play but just don't have time.
Other games I like are: almost all Mario games, Smash Bros, Donkey Kong Country (1 and Tropical Freeze), Chrono Trigger, Pikmin (2 and 3, no spoilers for 4 please), Earthbound, Halo (almost all of them), CoD (zombies only), Minecraft, Shogun 2, Rome 1 and 2, Cuphead (haven't played the DLC yet), FTL, Warcraft 3
Books:
I almost exclusively read fiction, and...yep you guessed it...fantasy (The Wheel of Time, Bone, A Song of Ice and Fire)
Manga and Anime:
Like I said before, I really like fantasy series (Dragonball, One Piece, Naruto, Fairy Tail, Hunter x Hunter, Full Metal Alchemist)
However unlike conventional TV, when it comes to anime I like some science fiction (Cowboy Bebop, Planetes, and lots of Gundam! Not just Mobile Suit Gundam: the original, but Zeta, CCA, Unicorn, and IBO too!)
I also like some new anime, in a genre I don't usually explore, romantic comedies (The Ice Guy And His Cool Female Colleague, Spy x Family)
Yeah that's about it! Feel free to shoot me a message if you think this post is nice. 😁
