Hello there!
I'm 32, single, white, male. Black hair, full beard, hazel eyes, 6'0", 220lbs, and a bit of a "dad bod", but I'm down 15 lbs so far and actively working towards better health! I'll keep this at the top: I'm childfree, and I intend to stay that way, I do plan to get snipped. And, in case you missed the title, I'm searching for "my person."
I am currently shopping for my new home on the water and my new, fully remote career too. Looking at roomy live-aboard type boats that would have room for other family to sleep aboard with privacy. (Google Beneteau 50 Farr)
With that, I'm also looking for a partner who would like to share that life.
So, that being said, I'm not there yet, but I'm aggressively working towards my goal.
Right now, I'm an electrical foreman, and I travel across the country for work for 6-8 weeks, about two times a year.
When I'm home, I volunteer for the fire department, though I'll have to leave them when I move to the water, obviously.
I play violin/bass, I'm teaching myself guitar and bass guitar, and I do leathercrafting.
I love being outdoors and teaching Hunter's ed (its volunteer).
I'm finishing my degree very soon.
I love fishing, hunting, scuba diving, kayaking (Have 2), hammock camping, snow skiing, riding my motorcycles and of course boating (I have a smaller boat and a jet ski now, and I mention these as I'm passionate about being in the water and hoping you are interested, too.).
I work out regularly.
I'm not real political, but I think being hard left or hard right is probably not a good match for me.
I love to cook. I'm handy in the kitchen and on the grill or smoker. Love trying different food, too.
My love language is physical touch and quality time followed by acts of service. I am working on being better about small gifts and words of affirmation.
I know it is always taboo to talk about sex, but it is a crucial part of a long-term relationship, which is what I'm looking for. It is important for compatability! If you would be content with 1 or 2 times a week or less, it's probably not a good match.
I listen to a bit of everything music wise, game occasionally, and prefer watching movies over TV series (with subtitles on).
Please understand, unless you live near Topeka, KS this will be long-distance until it's liveaboard time, or when I get my fully remote career and could move to you, or you move to my location. I am happy to put in the long-distance leg work and make it as fair as possible.
The reason I can't move to you yet: I have reached a point with my current employment that is (financially) crucial to obtaining the liveaboard dream. Basically, I'm making enough where I am at and could not make the same elsewhere. I will be actively pursuing fully remote work to facilitate boat life and could move freely then. Again, in the meantime, I'm totally willing to put in the effort to make long distance worth it. I'm not scared of driving, flying, or walking for someone I'm pursuing mutually. And again, once on the boat, I will not plan to be away for work, as I plan to work fully remote on the boat.
I don't smoke cigarettes, but I will have a celebratory cigar a few times a year. - and then brush my teeth and gargle x3 times 🤣 Frequent/daily cigarettes are a deal breaker for me. -and I hope you don't vape either
I like to have a drink now and then, but usually only one or two. Alcohol/substance abusers need not apply.
I love coffee.
I'm not religious, but you can be.
I love all pets, don't have any, but I would call myself a dog person.
I don't care to watch sports on the TV. I'd rather play them.
I have three motorcycles currently, and motorcycle riding is a huge passion of mine. I ride nearly year round. It's fuel efficient, fun, and intimate with your riding partner, and I love it. I have sport bikes and cruisers, so I'm not even set on one or the other but I will have to narrow it down to one over the next two years (that's a lot of weight and space to put on a boat). The weight limit for passengers is unfortunately low, and the only reason there is a weight limit is safety. The way it works is the GVWR is the maximum weight of the bike, the gas, the oil, the rider(s), and the gear/cargo. You take the GVWR, subtract the weight of the bike, fuel, oil, me, and my clothes, and what's left is the maximum passenger, gear, and cargo capacity. This is a safety thing. No, I would never monitor my partner's weight, but I feel a responsibility to keep my partner safe, and wrecking a motorcycle sounds pretty devastating. I've been riding for 14 years (almost year round) and haven't had an incident, I plan to keep it that way. My newest motorcycle (which has the highest GVWR of my 3 bikes) can only handle a passenger of about 170lbs or less plus a helmet, clothes and gear (again, this is in part due to me weighing 220lbs plus gear, and I am trying to lose weight). I'd really love for my partner to be able to ride with me at least once in a while, preferably often. -even better if you love it.
I don't have a ton of criteria for the woman I am seeking, but I am looking for: - monogamy - long-term with marriage being the goal - ok with me being agnostic - interested in the man and boat life you read about above I don't care about your height, age, color, etc. I'm trying to find "my person". It's hard enough being childfree, let alone wanting to live on a boat.
