Hi! I have no idea how to start this. I have legitimately written the beginning of this post approximately 7 times. Each time very different from the last. So I guess I’ve decided to stick with this one and whatever may come of it.
I’m lonely but not necessarily desperate. I’m busy but want to make time for somebody. Since my wife passed, it seems like I’ve pushed a lot to the back of my brain in order to focus on my career and my kids. At some point though, I need to do something for me (that’s what my therapist says).
So here goes nothing. I’m a 30 year old male in Indiana, USA. There’s not very much exciting about Indiana. Our top exports are corn, methamphetamines, and soybeans in no particular order.
I’m a single dad of a host of kids. They keep me busy but I wouldn’t trade them for the world. They’re so special to me and they’ve kept me grounded through a very difficult time in my life.
I am a veteran of the US Army. I was an airborne combat medic so essentially, I jumped out of planes and attempted to save lives with halfway decent success in combat operations.
I transitioned from being a medic in the Army to being a nurse but I actually have several degrees and other academic achievements. I have a bachelors of science in biochemistry, a bachelors of science in molecular biology, a bachelors of science in nursing, a minor in physics, a minor in sociology, and a masters of nursing. I am currently working on a dual doctorate of nursing practice and PhD in nursing. I have 4 peer reviewed articles published that I was one of the leads on and 10-12 that I tagged along on for the ride. I currently operate as a flight and ground transport nurse which offers me a similar level of autonomy as the Army did in combat. It allows me to critically think, assess, and make decisions with less oversight than you typically get in a hospital.
I greatly enjoy sports, both college/university athletics and professional athletics. I was a three sport athlete in high school and played club soccer in the summers as well. I continue to play in an adult soccer league. I play left winger primarily but will sometimes move inside for those of you that are interested in association football. I also enjoy movies, specifically Star Wars, Marvel, and Indiana Jones. I like to binge watch shows after they’ve run their course because I absolutely hate waiting until the next week for a new episode. I also commonly binge watch the same series several times over. I’ve watched The Office 46 times through, Breaking Bad 9 times through, and Vikings 4 times through. I enjoy woodworking as a hobby but with work, school, and single dad life, it has been quite awhile since I’ve even looked at the machines in my extra garage.
Anyway, I’m sure that I missed a ton but I’d love to chat. I could use somebody consistent in my life. Chats are open and ready for you to grace them!
