If you are getting an "Invalid State" error message when posting, it is due to a known bug on the Reddit App version 2024.07.0 for Android devices, which corrupts the post title when text containing (possibly invisible) invalid characters is pasted into the title field. The issue reportedly affects only Android users of the official Reddit App. If you are not using the app, or are using iOS or a different version, please let us know so we can update the list of affected apps/devices.

Known workarounds include:

• If there is blank space at the start or end of the title, deleting it should allow the post thru
• In some cases, it appears to be necessary to restart the app and compose the post without pasting any text into the title field
• Posting from the web (Reddit.com) or downgrading the app to a version before 2024.07.0 should also avoid this bug

Note that pasting text into the post body does not cause any issues, and is safe to do.
