hello 👋🏼 in lieu of a properly written post title, thank you for still clicking on this post. I’ve just entered my thirties and I am… finding myself with a lower tolerance for nonsense than ever. is it because I work with teenagers, and teenage nonsense is inevitable? maybe. is it because I work in a small town and I most definitely stick out like a sore thumb? quite possibly.
the only people I seem to be interacting with are my students, my colleagues and family - and even then, it’s a bit of an isolating feeling. work has been challenging lately. I’m fairly social but also introverted, needing to retreat to recharge my social batteries relatively often.
recently tried reaching out to some people here, things kind of fizzled after a while - my work hours can be crazy, so my replies tend to come in bursts. it would be good if you’re in a similar time zone so that neither one of us will be left waiting on replies, but that’s not a hard limit.
about me - this is obviously a throwaway account - southeast asian, gmt 8 - hobbies: boxing, video games (mobile and switch these days), reading (fantasy, thriller, YA and romance) and music (i’m less into genres, more into moods - ask me what i’m listening to) - often described as an autodidact, i’m always reading and learning: i once taught myself a fictional language during the lockdown since I have an ear for languages, I retain information fairly easily and my brain is a collection of interesting facts that are often unrelated (occasionally affected by my brand of neurodivergence)
I’m open to anyone and anything, I don’t have concrete expectations but I’d appreciate it if you were upfront about what you’re looking for. I’m definitely open to exchanging photos and moving to other platforms after a while, but let’s talk ✨
