Calling all friends, enemies and cat lovers of reddit:
I'm a 31 from Spain, working from home as a programmer. I've always enjoyed having online friends (basically a child of the internet since before it was colonized by big data ahem). Lately I have been asking myself whether it is a function of aging or whether society has changed, but either way I've noticed quite a difference these past years when it comes to creating and maintaining friendships.
I'd love to hear from you about your experiences with this, and just generally get to know new people in a genuinely open but also no-pressure kind of way. We're both real people on the other side of our screens, so let's converse in a way that's friendly to human psychology!
(Please note that I'm not trying to date anyone and I don't really care what is your height. Thank you gentlemen!)
Some things about me:
- I have a 3 year old cat. He's adorable and extremely cuddly, so spamming people with cat pics is one of my hobbies.
- I'm interested in language learning and currently attend two language evening classes. I speak 6 languages with a decent level of fluency.
- I have a job where I get to do research on cutting-edge cryptography and distributed computing which is super cool and math-heavy.
- I bought a cheap lyre and am practicing with the goal to attend a lyre camp in Greece in the summer.
- Vegetarian trying to transition to vegan. Would love to discuss the ethics and/or practicality of this especially with other people in Southern Europe.
- I think a lot about Hegelian metaphysics, Leibnizian/Spinozan mon(ad)ism, mereology and Tarskian logic and the spiritual implications of all that stuff, so if that interests you then please let me know!
- If you live in Barcelona I'm also happy to meet irl :)
