My name is Ed and I live near Cambridge. I've got a bunch of tattoos and piercings, but have no intention of acquiring more. I have dreadlocks - for the third time in my life. I'm 6'4" and one of those people who eats everything and never puts on weight.

I work full time as a carer for the elderly. Most of my free time is spent in front of the computer - music, reading, instant messaging and a bit of gaming. My biggest passion is purchasing and collecting underground music genres.
I also enjoy contact fire staffing, art, photography and I'm converting a Luton van into a campervan to live in full time.
I am sober, but I spent much of my adult life battling addictions. It hasn't been easy, and in being sober I've lost most of my friends and acquaintances along the way. Loneliness is quite a crushing feeling at times, and so I'm being pro-active in trying to find new people to speak to.
Long term - once the van is done I'll be moving to live-in care work and doing a 2 week on 2 week off rota. This'll allow me to spend half the year travelling the UK in my van. Eventually I wish to get 2 dogs, and save up for some agricultural land and work my way towards being self-sufficient.
I'm on the spectrum, so I'm rather quirky. Most people only see my reserved and polite side. I'm a people pleaser, and well-versed in helping others and avoiding friction at all costs. It can be tiring at times, and all stems from unresolved childhood trauma. TMI? Perhaps, but it all adds to the flavour.
Looking to make new friends, and potentially IRL meet ups in the future as well. Over the years lots of people say I'm a very nice and polite guy. Some have gone as far as to say I'm the nicest person they've ever met. If I feel truly comfortable with someone I will gradually drop the mask and they'll see an extremely hyper, quirky and supposedly amusing side to me.
Over the years I've chatted to a wide variety of people online, but I click with very few. I'm happy to chat to anyone, but there needs to be a decent back and forth and a vested interest in one another.
