Hello, I’m GuitarnStories! Although I don’t have a guitar yet, I still tell plenty of stories through poems and the occasional song lyrics if I’m up to humiliate myself.

My Current Interests

Ever since I was really young, the question I always asked myself was: “Why?” Why do I like this book? Why do these lyrics touch my heart? Why won’t the cute guy in philosophy class ask me out?

One big constant in my life has been my love of stories. As a kid, my natural habitat was the library. This year, I’ve read over 20 books so far and I hope to reach 30 before 2024. I also love music with good lyrics or complex instrumentals. These days, I’m listening to a lot of Alec Benjamin and Brakence. I don’t just want to “vibe” to music, I also love discussing lyrics and instrumentals!

Artificial Intelligence Over the years, my thoughts on AI has gone from completely fearing it to fully embracing it and even being cautiously optimistic for its future. One of my new favourite hobbies is using Chat GPT's awesome voice feature. I like the "Breeze" voice the best. I ask him to summarize news articles, chat about cooking, and even ask for advice on deep, personal questions. I’d love to discuss Chat GPT and AI in general in-depth with someone over a call.

Political and social commentary. I’d consider myself centre-left but I’m pretty open minded and chill. I like the Joe Rogan podcast, Bill Burr, Esther Perel, and Kidology. I’m a big believer that I should listen to a variety of voices to gain the most amount of insight. Documentaries about social issues and the occasional guilty pleasure trash reality TV show is also fun. I’ll openly admit I love tuning it to peoples’ dysfunctional drama. I also love philosophy and psychology, too!

Music making! I took classical singing for 4 years in highschool and I want to get back into it so I’m switching over to contemporary singing. I want to either play the piano or guitar and write my own music. I’ve recently been reading Writing Better Lyrics and it’s a super insightful book for songwriting! If you write music too, it would be fun to collab on something.

My Look

Winter is coming… but instead of practising sword fighting and overthrowing kingdoms, I’m wearing chunky sweaters, oversized hoodies, thigh high socks, and tall boots. My fashion is kinda inspired from anime. I’m southeast Asian, slim, petite, and wear glasses. I like to think I have the “nerdy bookworm” look.

What Am I Looking For?

1) Intelligence. I appreciate a guy that can carry a conversation and is not afraid to challenge my worldview. I’d like someone to be closer to my age because I really love the idea of “building a life together.”

2) Good communicator. Whenever it comes to conflict resolution, I basically want to talk it out, resolve, and find a solution to the issue right away. Emotional intelligence is important to me along with being straightforward.

3) Childfree I don’t want kids so I’m looking for someone who is the same.

4) Tell me about your passions! Whether it’s marine biology, art, or just learning new things, I think it’s really cute when a guy can get super excited about what he loves. I’m really chatty so I’ll certainly pepper you with plenty of questions.

5) On a side note, I’m kinda into the boyish look but it’s just a preference. Also, short kings don’t be shy!

Our Future E-Dates!

Whether for in-person or online, I love the idea of planning cute dates with someone. Since I’ve been single basically all my life, I’ve had plenty of time to brainstorm!

1) Movie night. We can grab some popcorn and tune into a movie and discuss it afterwards. We could also watch cartoons, an anime, or a good TV show!

2) Book club. We can read a book together and talk about it. If you’re not into books, we could search up interesting news articles and discuss them.

3) Youtube comedy. I love Trey Kennedy, Dude Dad, and other online comedians. I’d also love to watch thoughtful videos and chat about them.

4) Tabletop simulator. I’d love to play a game of chess, SuperFight, StoryCubes, or some other fun board game with you!

5) The Book of Questions. I have this book full of super thought-provoking questions that I’d love to go over. I also enjoy hypotheticals, Would You Rather, and those silly online quizzes.

Fun Facts About Me!

1) I’m a dual US and Canadian citizen. That’s why I mostly just want people in those two countries. It would be a little complicated to immigrate to another country and navigate a big timezone gap.

2) I REALLY like guy’s voices. The first time I talked to a guy on Discord at 17, I distinctly remember thinking: “His voice is really hot.” Ever since then, I’ve been obsessed with guys’ voices. I’ve found I prefer guys with higher pitched voices. If a guy is cute, has a hot voice, and he’s smart, I’m basically done for. Maybe if you send me a voice clip in your reply you could reel me in. ;)

3) I’m autistic. Although I’ve never been formally diagnosed, my aunt who works with autistic kids saw all the signs in me from a young age and she says I “tick” all the boxes. I’ve always been highly logical, seldom show emotion in my face, and sensitive to external stimuli.
