So we all know why we're here; Meeting new people as an adult is increasingly harder to do for many of us, and the apps are universally terrible. Some of the most interesting people I've met, I met here on reddit, so I'm giving this another shot.

To start things off, here's me.

As per the title, I'm looking for my best friend. What does that mean? It means consistency, and patience and understanding. It means taking the time to learn who we really are, and it means helping each other to grow and develop. It means being more together than we were without each other. It means illuminating the darkest parts of each other and accepting them. It means having somebody in my life who I know will always be there for me when I need them, who trusts me as much as I trust them.

An instant spark is nice, but it's sad to see people ghosting after an hour because they don't feel that right away. I believe it's an unfortunate side-effect of a society geared towards instant gratification. All of the best and most meaningful relationships in my life are those that started with warmth and consideration; Seeds of love which were planted willingly and intentionally, cultivated over time, and given space and time to grow into their own unique shape. If that resonates with you, we might just have something. That being said, if you don't feel like our conversation is worth continuing for you just let me know. I won't be offended.

A little about me: I'm generally affectionate, can be indulgently romantic and passionately love to listen to people talk about their interests, and would like if you were that kind of person too. I live in the UK but I'm open to meeting people from anywhere. I would like to travel more and visit new places, whether that was with you or to meet you, I don't really mind. I'm open to voice or video calls, messaging, and actual meetups.

I'm basically alternative in my tastes, spiritual, curious about a great many things. I can read tarot, enjoy taking long walks at night or in the woods looking for strange and unique things, and am more than a little bit obsessed with the moon and thunderstorms. I read a lot and write a little, when the mood takes me, and would love to develop my skills with other art forms. I enjoy learning about mycology, astronomy, mythology and history, though I would be happy to learn and explore anything you feel you could teach me. A bit of a gamer, both on PC and IRL (board/card games) though I struggle to get into a lot of games I used to enjoy. If you want someone to play a decent MMO with, that could be a fun way for us to get to know each other, but I'm open to all sorts of activities.
