Reposting, but still looking. And why not? This is me, heart on sleeve.
After a decade in the Northeast, I've been trying the DMV area since last fall. My lease is up at the end of June and I plan to spend July (and maybe August) in New England, and then I don't know where to go. Most of my network is in/around NYC, where I'm from -- but it's filthy, expensive, and I've grown accustomed to outdoor space. DC is nice but expensive and I don't have many friends here, plus it's a swamp in the summer, and I don't want to move to a more suburban or rural area without a partner.
Basically, I'm ambivalent and conflicted on location and need to make a decision. I have a remote work arrangement through the fall, and perhaps longer, so long-term career uncertainty is making planning even more fun. Put your fingers on the scale and give me a reason to choose a location.
Oh, I'm overeducated (PhD in a social science from an Ivy; oy vey), tall (over 6'2"), around 230 pounds (but in the process of taking a few pounds off accrued during the winter), with long brown hair (usually up), a short salt and pepper beard, brown eyes, a prominent nose, and a large package, though this is only relevant should we hit it off...
I enjoy cannabis too much, audiobooks (grad school ruined me for reading), hanging out with my dog, walks in nature, British detective shows, cartoons like Rick and Morty and Archer, hard sci fi, and being a human being. I like gardening but do not currently have a garden, and am into DIY stuff but do not currently have a house. A bit adrift but seeking real connections.
No men. No pros. No exceptions.
No hangups about race. Chemistry is fickle and I'm open to finding it in different forms and places.
