More in depth: Obviously you can tell I'm a bleeding heart Leftist. I also feel like I operate with a lot of male and white-passing privilege (half Mexican, though), and so this type of laundry list isn't as big of an ask for my proverbial dating pool as it would be if I were into dudes. But also if you read this and want to be like, my bro, or something, sorry buddy, you also gotta abide by the list.
Hey all, I moved to the PNW last September for work, and have been absolutely loving it while I thrive in my early 30s. Work gets me pretty busy, and I'm in kind of an artsy-college town, so the Online Dating Scene could be better, I guess? I just occasionally through up some personals on Reddit and see where those take me. Beyond the Leftism, beautiful surroundings, and trying to not get too burnt out on politics through my job, I just try to be a kind, optimistic, Ted Lasso-like light in the world. And yes, I am PLENTY excited for March 15th. I also think I'm pretty funny, and my Master's is in Communication, so you know I can resolve conflicts and also coach you to better debate your racist uncle at Thanksgiving.
I don't like to think of these next aspects of self-expression as career side goals, because they quite simply aren't successful enough to be so (haha!), but I also feel like a lot of my life IS intersectional. I really like writing fictional stuff, as well as streaming video games occasionally. Who really knows how long that last concept will last, but it's kind of a manifestation thing.
But in terms of my day-to-day outside of work life, I am just, super, ludicrously into pop culture. I don't really have a metric to compare this concept to, but I truly believe I have GOT to be the number one customer of my (again, small) city's movie theatre. I just really love movies. I'm really hoping for Michell Yeoh, Ke Huy Quan, Stephanie Hsu, and EEAAO to all get Oscars. I'm also super into the MCU, and very excited for Quantummania.
On the television side of things, I need to watch more anime, but am super excited for the end of AoT. I'm currently parsing through Persona 5's anime, because I beat that game recently and cried my tear ducts dry. I started Abbott Elementary, am interested in Shrinking, and am ready for Succession to come back. Game of Thrones was great until it wasn't, House of the Dragon is amazing, and I'm warily excited for The Walking Dead extended universe.
If you can't tell already, I'm a Swiftie, and have fallen way more in love with pop in general the last few years. Like, Carly Rae Jepsen's last album is a total bop. I also really love pop punk, especially The Wonder Years, and Green Day/Linkin Park/The Beatles are probably my fav artists overall. Also, Bruce Springsteen.
Finally, I really love playing video games. I'm primarily an Xbox gamer, and I would definitely say my ideal partner has some semblance of an interest in gaming (just casually, or if you want to play through all of Gamepass's co-op games, haha!). I'm trying to get back into Smite, should probably get back into Dead by Daylight, and have been playing a lot of Fire Emblem Engage. Also, feel free to challenge me at Mario Party.
TL:DR Handsome Leftist teddy bear seeks friend, or more, especially if some shared pop culture interests pop up.
